Influence on me
His work strongly inspires me to explore the full capacity of the body, both in a functional and an artistic sense. It encourages me to think beyond familiar movement patterns and consider how the body can operate at its limits while still maintaining control and intention. Watching his choreography challenges me to discover new shapes, pathways, and dynamics, pushing me to move outside of my comfort zone and question habitual ways of dancing. What I find particularly compelling is how his style blurs the boundaries between ballet and contemporary, which is an aspect I am especially drawn to. He seamlessly merges the precision and technique of ballet with the freedom and fluidity of contemporary movement, creating a vocabulary that feels both grounded and expansive. To me, his work enhances the athleticism inherent in dance without sacrificing its beauty or delicacy. There is a constant balance between power and control, where physically demanding movement coexists with clarity and refinement, the perfect marriage.

Apart from his work, Rafael Bonachela is a very big idol and I look up to him as a role model for his determination and persistence in the industry, never doubting his passion and love for the artform. I believe he was so successful, as he kept this principle at the forefront of his life, which is something that cant be looked past or denied and stands right out. Throughout his training he always pushed himself as hard as he knew he could go and would strive and aim to be the best, like the people he admired. Not only that, but he made the most of all of his experiences and tried to get as many possibilities as possible by trying things and showing up. Those qualities and acts are so admirable, and I strive to be like Rafael.
